چکیده

Chemical vapour generation by reduction with sodium tetraborohydride and coupled to inductively coupled plasma spectrometry (HG-ICP-AES) was examined for tin analysis in high-content calcium matrix samples. Comparison of calibration curves in aqueous and matrix-matched solution showed good linearity (R = 0.9951 – 0.9999) in the observed range of concentration. The effects of added calcium were established as attenuation of emission intensity for 3 % at 224.605 nm and 235.484 nm and only 1 % at 283.999 nm and 189.991 nm of tin lines. The best limit of detection, i.e. 1.9 mg L in aqueous and 2.1 mg L in matrix-matched solution were obtained at 189.991 nm. Method of standard addition was applied for the analysis of laboratory samples of high purity calcite and aragonite shell structures and it gave 0.11 μg g and 0.17 μg g of tin, respectively. The accuracy of method was tested by certified reference material (NRCC, MESS-3) and good recoveries (100.08 %) were obtained in both calibration modes. Tin content was determined by HG-ICP-AES method using matrix-matched calibration in shell samples of Mytilus galloprovinciallis. The obtained values of tin content showed relatively flat distribution in shells along the coast (0.511 – 0.718 μg g). Higher concentrations were measured on several hotspots, especially fishing ports and harbours. (doi: 10.5562/cca2259)

Selective Separation and Preconcentration of trace Amounts of Gallium in Water and Rice Samples using Cloud Point Extraction and Determination by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Spectrometry

In the present study a cloud-point extraction process using non-ionic surfactant Triton X-114 for selective extraction of gallium from aqueous solutions was developed. The method is based on the complex formation of Ga (III) with N, N′ -bis (salycilidene)-1, 2-phenylenediamine (salophen) as a chelating agent in buffer media of pH 5. After phase separation and dilution of the surfactant-rich pha...

Tin Content Determination in Canned Fruits and Vegetables by Hydride Generation Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry

Tin content in samples of canned fruits and vegetables was determined by hydride generation inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (HG-ICP-OES), and it was compared with results obtained by standard method of flame atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). Selected tin emission lines intensity was measured in prepared samples after addition of tartaric acid and followed by hydride ...

Screening and Optimization of Microextraction of Pb(II) by Inductively Coupled Plasma-Atomic Emission Using Response Surface Methodology

Dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction (DLLME) combined with inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) was applied for the determination of lead in different environmental water samples. Ammonium pyrrolidine dithiocarbamate (APDC), chloroform and ethanol were used as chelating agent, extraction solvent and disperser solvent, respectively. The effective parameters, such...

Determination of 137Ba Isotope Abundances in Water Samples by Inductively Coupled Plasma-optical Emission Spectrometry Combined with Least-squares Support Vector Machine Regression

A simple and rapid method for the determination of 137Ba isotope abundances in water samples by inductively coupled plasma-optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES) coupled with least-squares support vector machine regression (LS-SVM) is reported. By evaluation of emission lines of barium, it was found that the emission line at 493.408 nm provides the best results for the determination...

Interlaboratory testing for the determination of trace amounts of tin and lead in magnesium and magnesium alloys by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry.

In order to establish a standard analytical method for the determination of trace amounts of tin and lead in magnesium and its alloys, which could be found in neither JIS nor ISO standards, an interlaboratory testing with inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) has been put into practice. Simple dissolution with nitric and hydrochloric acids and sample nebulization pro...
